3D Character Turnaround & Texture BreakdownIntroductionAs part of the final stages of my 9th project dedicated to The Last of Us universe, this turnaround render provides a comprehensive visual look at Ellie's complete character model from both the front and back profiles. This presentation focuses directly on high-fidelity asset design, material logic, and anatomical skeletal balance without environmental distractions.Technical Overview & Material BreakdownDual-Profile Rigging: The character's neutral stance is driven by a custom-built digital skeleton. Manual weight painting ensures that the shoulders drop naturally and the arms hang with realistic organic weight, keeping the clothing deformations perfectly smooth on both sides.Hard Surface & Asset Fabric Texturing: A primary focus was placed on the survival backpack and clothing layers. Using advanced PBR texturing techniques, the canvas backpack features realistic fabric wear, structural seams, and weathered metal hardware. The denim jeans and tactical shirt respond accurately to the high-contrast light setup, displaying natural folds and micro-creases.Character Grooming & Grit: Ellie’s skin shader combines realistic sub-surface scattering with dried blood layers along her face, neck, and hands. Her hair structure is meticulously organized from the front framing strands to the complex bun geometry at the back, processed cleanly via OpenImageDenoise to ensure sharp, artifact-free details in the shadows.Cinematic Lighting & Engine Polish: Rendered natively in Blender 5.0 Cycles using a focused rim-light setup against a pitch-black backdrop to sharply isolate the character silhouette.
